This project will focus on a community empowerment approach to improve sanitation coverage, which has huge potential to address the deep rooted causes of poverty, inequity and powerlessness. To a large extent the problems of development are due to the crisis of governance and thus empowering citizens to influence their governments to be more transparent, accountable and responsive is of great significance in any strategic approach to achieving the development goals.
