Does the provision of information on efficient waste management affect households' disposal behaviour |
Research objectives and methodology:
In our context, an existing organic waste treatment plant is in operation. It is still troubled by a lack of properly segregated waste. The existence of a functional waste treatment plant offers a chance to break the vicious circle from the demand side.
We propose an experimental intervention to identify what are the true cause of the under-supply of waste segregation at the source. The proposed experiment has three stages: the baseline stage, the intervention stage and a follow-up stage. The first stage consists of a household survey and water monitoring. The second stage is our key intervention stage, where we introduce interventions aiming to promote waste segregation at the source. We intend to have three treatment conditions along with a control group.
