Project Objective & Goal :

NGO Forum for Public Health has been implementing a research study titled “Groundwater sustainability studies in Bangladesh” which is a sub-Activity of Solar Irrigation for Agricultural Resilience in South Asia (SoLAR-SA).

Objectives of the Study: The following two main objectives of this study are as follows-

  1. To assess the impact of SIP on farmers’ irrigation behavior, and subsequent impacts on overall groundwater levels and resources.
  2. Analyze and compare the farmer’s groundwater abstraction patterns/behavior and volumes of water pumped by SIP and non-solar (diesel) farmers.
