Welcome To Sustainable Arsenic Mitigation Database System

pdate of the secondary database

DU/NGOF will be responsible for the database update to the project group. Establishment of hydrogeological database will be coordinated with KTH and Ramböll so that a consistent database is formed. This is a component that needs to be checked and updated with other stakeholders /donors working in the project area.

  • Further acquisition of deep aquifer database (DU in collaboration with NGOF)
  • Update of BWDB hydrological data for the years 2008-09 (DU, NGOF in collaboration with KTH)
  • DPHE drilling data (DU)
  • Inventory of GW-usage & management in Matlab Upazila implemented by the other projects (Columbia and BRAC-Wash programmes)
  • Irrigation well inventory including location information, depth of wells, average rate of groundwater abstraction, operational season etc.
  • Relevant Information from the adjacent areas of Matlab. This would include collection and synchronization of the available data from adjacent upazilas of Munshiganj, Narayanganj, and Chandpur district. We will also collect relevant data from Gopalganj district to make a regional comparison with Matlab upazila.

All the data collected from different organizations and generated through SASMIT work are now available in SASMIT database. All data have been organized mainly into two layers – hydrogeology and social. Table 2 below lists all the data available in SASMIT database
