Ms. Clare Robinson has worked with the National Resource Centre of NGO Forum for Drinking Water Supply & Sanitation for a period of 12 months under the Australian Youth Ambassador for Development Program. The program was an Australian Government, AusAid initiative, which support skilled young Australians to work with local organizations to achieve sustainable development through capacity building, skills exchange and institutional strengthening. Clare worked particularly on the Sustainable Arsenic Mitigation (SASMIT) and the Wastewater Agriculture and Sanitation for Poverty Alleviation (WASPA) projects from July 2008.
Clare completed her PhD at the University of Queensland in 2006 focused on the transport of contaminants in coastal aquifers and groundwater salinisation. Following this she worked as a post doctorate at Ecole Polytechnique Féderalé de Lausanne, Switzerland. With NRC she conducted research on subsurface contaminant behaviour, in particular developing an understanding of the interactions between hydrological, chemical and biological processes. Through her research Clare has developed strong expertise in groundwater modelling, geochemical modelling and subsurface reactive contaminaint transport modelling. Clare has a number of publications in leading international research journals and has given presentations at a number of major international conferences.
