STREAMS is an autonomous, self-sustained, recognized and credible leader organization of resource centres, uniquely positioned locally and globally and effective in capacitating the sector in supporting the development of pro-poor policies for the sustainable implementation of water, sanitation, health and hygiene. STREAMS is composed of a growing number of strategically located Resource Centres which are also independent formal organizations responsible for their own operations but effectively joined together through its vision, mission, objectives and strategies. The different partners that make up the STREAMS coalition are all uniquely positioned in their respective countries where many, if not all, are directly influential at national level policy making processes and local level capacity building, implementation and fund flows.

NGO Forum, through its NRC, has been in active collaboration with STREAMS by participating in their different knowledge management and capacity building activities and events on water supply, sanitation and hygiene issues. Both STREAMS and NGO Forum have also jointly organized events for information and knowledge sharing on a wide variety of topics related water supply, sanitation and hygiene. These have created close tie and firm commitment between STREAMS and NGO Forum to work hand in hand for ensuring sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene programme for the poor and vulnerable children, women and men.

Founded in 1968, the International Water and Sanitation Centre (IRC) has been focusing on sharing, promotion and use of knowledge around the world. IRC facilitates this process underling the importance that utilization of effective and proper knowledge and information by governments, professionals and organizations can better support poor men, women and children in developing countries to obtain water and sanitation services they will use and maintain. Over the years IRC has been able to build a strong linkage with a wide range of partner organizations around the globe.

Being associated with the IRC ever since it was established, the NRC has greatly been benefitted from different types of support from IRC over the years and has built an amiable working relationship with them. IRC has supported the NRC in building up its capacity in various forms and also helped in developing and undertaking appropriate products and services leading to play a momentous role as resource centre in the WatSan sector of Bangladesh.
